Thanksgiving and Hanukkah. Wines for the Holidays, tasting Tuesday Nov 26th 3 to 7 & Wednesday Nov 27th 1 to 5.

2013 is rapidly coming to a close, but we still have major holidays ahead which center around food, libations, and, of course, family and friends. And, for the first time in 125 years Thanksgiving and the first day of Hanukkah coincide on November 28, mingling two different traditional meals. Here are a few wine suggestions that we feel would well accompany traditional Thanksgiving fare, but are versatile enough for many other food pairings!

Klinker Brick, Old Vine Zinfandel - $20
With ripe raspberry, blackberry and dark cherry cloaked in swirls of vanilla and pepper on the nose, moving forward to an explosion of red fruit on the palate with an underlying herbal zestiness and much anticipated sweet spice on the finish.
Block Nine, Pinot Noir - $13
Light bodied, with notes of bright cherry, pomegranate, cinnamon and cola. The finish is fruity and refreshing, a perfect match for Turkey.
Domaine Alain Pautre, Petit Chablis - $17
This is a fabulous value for Petite Chablis. It is 100% Chardonnay and 100% stainless steel fermentation. This little wine has aromas of white flowers and citrus. On the palate, notes of citrus dance on your tongue while the subtle flintiness hangs in the background. It is a well-balanced wine with great fruit and acidity.
Ellena, Nascetta - $18
There is a muted green honeydew melon nose with hints of petrol. Gripping yet the acidity makes this chewy and fun. Lemon and key lime flavors in the mouth with notes of lemongrass co-mingling with fleshier pit fruits like peaches.

And, if you don't wish to take our word for these choices, come sip for yourself
