Catena Zapata Catena Malbec 2013The Catena Malbec presents a deep violet color. This microclimate blend of four unique vineyards offers intense aromas, a soft texture, and concentrated flavor. Deep aromas of ripe red and dark fruits are joined by delicate violet and lavender notes, with traces of vanilla and mocha. A rich, concentrated mouthfeel is highlighted by flavors of blueberries and blackberries with a touch of sweet spice, and leather. The wine finishes with bright acidity, well-integrated and silky tannins, and a flinty minerality that lingers on the palate. Food Pairing: The Catena Malbec would be a wonderful complement robust red meat dishes, any agro dolce sauce, or to an earthy dish like Lamb Tagine with Dried Plums.

Cantine Valpane Barbera del Monferrato Rosso Pietro 2013Although the names Asti and Alba may be more widely recognized today, Pietro explains that the Monferrato provides more faithful expressions of Barbera. This is due in part to the warmer climate and longer hours of sunlight here, which allow the grapes to ripen completely and unfurl the full personality of the variety. The Monferrato is also still relatively untamed, and the forests and fields here benefit the area's vineyards by providing a natural source of variety. At Valpane these factors combine to provide meaty Barberas that nevertheless offer plenty of lively fruit. Pietro then lets them sit in large oak botti and cement tanks for several years, depending on the cuvée, and releases them only when they are ready.
Chateau Massiac Minervois Cuvée Sentinelle 2015The "Sentinelle" cuvée is the more precocious of the two reds produced at Massiac. The tannins are more supple and the fruit a touch "sweeter", more forward and less rustic than its companion. Fermentation and elevage are in tank. The wine is bottled within a year of the harvest. The blend is usually two-thirds Syrah and one-third Carignan.
Domaine Cheveau Pouilly Fuisse Vieilles Vignes 2014A powerful wine of great depth and length, this old vines offering is barrel-fermented and barrel-aged with about 25% of the oak being new.
Lieu Dit Sauvignon Blanc 2014A combination of both tank and barrel fermentations that are aged in neutral barrels. We source our fruit from three vineyards in Happy Canyon called Grassini, McGinley, and Star Lane. Varying soils of sand, shale and gravel at Star Lane and heavier clays with larger yellow and red chert, and serpentine rocks at both McGinley and Grassini.
Brooks Amycas White Table Wine 2013Perfumed honeysuckle and paperwhites, white peach, rose petals and orange blossom flowers. So pretty in the nose with lychee, gardenias and pear. In the mouth the rich fruit explodes! Canned pear syrup, peach, lemon pie, canteloupe, melon, passion fruit and jasmine. Beautiful wine with a lush texture, finishing with a hint of orange rind and bright acid. Loving this wine both in the aromas and the structure and pure ripe fruit. Great with tuna conserva, celery root salad, grilled fish, etc.

Cantina Zaccagnini Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2013Intense violet robe. Aromas of plum and ripe blackberry. Each sip delivers a mouthful of ripe berries, leather and black pepper with subtle hints of oregano, dried herbs and a touch of vanilla; all leading to a dry and supple finish.
Joseph Carr Merlot 2012The wine features aromas of black cherry, chocolate, mint, root beer, vanilla, cedar, and roast beef. On the palate, a soft attack of roast meat, cherry, chocolate pudding, and sage is highlighted by a medium body and food-friendly acidity, leading to a textured finish.
Peterson Winery Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel 2012Dark aromatics reveal brambly blackberry and wild cherry generously sprinkled with black pepper. The bright entry introduces mixed dark berries, raspberry and cherry laced with rich vanillin oak, pepper and spicy acidity. Hints of chocolate appear mid-palate as the flavors broaden, and then linger in the finish. Enjoyable now, this wine will benefit from decanting if opened before 2015, or give it a bit more bottle aging to allow the components to continue to integrate. It will pair nicely with spice-rubbed baby back ribs, or spaghetti topped with meatballs.
Michael David Freakshow 2013Known for taking the road less traveled, Michael David Winery has always stood apart from the crowd. Whether it be their outlandish brands and packaging or their quirky personalities, Michael and David are denitely on a stage of their own and this wine showcases just that. The fruit for this brute of a Cab comes from the original "super freak," Michael Phillips' vineyard located only a medicine balls toss away from the winery.
Walt La Brisa Chardonnay 2014This appellation blend is crafted from the fruit of several Dutton family proper ties in the Green Valley, the coolest sub-appellation of the Russian River Valley. In addition, we sourced select fruit from the Sangiacomo family's vineyard in the Sonoma Coast, a cool and breezy site that produces wines of terrific fruit concentration. The combined characteristics of these appellations, including cool morning fog and light sandy soils, give depth and uniqueness to the resulting blend.
Aldo Conterno Barolo Granbussia Riserva 2005The Granbussia remains in the cellar for at least 8 years before commercialization. It is produced exclusively in the best years and in limited quantities.
Opus One Napa Valley Red 2012Mother Nature favored the 2012 vintage with a superb growing season characterized by moderate temperatures and bountiful sunshine. At harvest, the fruit exhibited intense flavor, layers of complexity and excellent structure. Picking started on September 21st and continued through October 20th. The wine effuses dark fruit aromas accentuated by subtler notes of forest-floor and graphite. The wine's round mouthfeel and satiny tannins wrap around classic flavors of cassis, blackberry and black cherry. This refined and age-worthy wine offers lively acidity and a sturdy structure with a long lingering finish.
Caymus Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon 2013Caymus Special Selection is the flagship wine of the Wagner family and is comprised of the very best barrels of the vintage. This wine is not produced in difficult years. Caymus prides itself on producing wines that are as approachable in youth as well at maturity. Aromas and flavors which can only be achieved through "hang time" - a technique which chances the loss of crop if early winter sets in. Leaving the fruit to "hang" on the vine unusually long develops suppleness, increases color, and matures the tannins of the grapes. The wines are abundant in textural tannins yet soft as velvet. Crop thinning, allowing measured sunlight to reach the vine's fruit zone, and waiting for increased ripeness are all part of our viticultural practices. Caymus Cabernets offer a wide array of aromas and flavors including cocoa, cassis and vanilla.
Artadi Pagos Viejos 2008The balanced production of our old vineyards, together with a limited yield and careful ageing, result in the authentic spirit of this wine. This wine is of intense colour, complex in hte nose, fully structured with a long after taste.
Orin Swift Mannequin 2013Dazzling straw-gold in color, the wine serves up superrich aromas of ripe pineapple, vanilla bean, raw coconut, and honeyed lemon. The entry is supremely lush with complex flavors of roasted fig, apricot, green apple, and orchard fruit. Further, the wine's energetic profile leads to stunning mineral notes, flint, exotic spice, and lemongrass framed in roasted marshmallow. The abundant richness remains through the finish with clarity and length, while supported with a youthful brightness.
Hess Collection Cabernet Sauvignon 2012Our replanting program on Mount Veeder offered exceptional fruit for our blend of mountain Cabernet and Malbec. The traditional red fruit aromas and flavors of the dominant Cabernet Sauvignon are led by bright cherry and wild mountain raspberry. The addition of our Malbec offers blueberry joined by notes of vanilla, cassis, creamy chocolate caramel and oak spice.
Flora Springs Trilogy 2007Flora Springs has built its legacy on beautiful and complex wines that can be enjoyed either as young and vibrant or as cellared and graceful. The 2007 exhibits all of the classic Trilogy attributes with a lovely cassis and cherry bouquet as well as huge black fruit flavors that envelope the palate. Each varietal is vital to the outcome - the Cabernet exhibits black cherry and dark cocoa character, while the Merlot carries these flavors to the back of the palate for an everlasting finish. Smith Woodhouse Vintage Port 2011Floral aromas of rockrose and violets of the Franca deliver superb elegance, finesse and harmony. The sizeable contribution from the old, mixed vines show through in the gorgeous layers of liquorice and blackberry fruit. The seamless spicy tannins give grip and authority to this Vintage Port. Smith Woodhouse 2011 Vintage Port pairs wonderfully with chocolate desserts, such as chocolate mousse, creamy blue cheeses like Stilton or Roquefort.
Volker Eisele Cabernet Sauvignon 2010The 2010 vintage is a blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Merlot for palate softness and complexity of aromas. The various grape lots were picked based on optimum maturity and fermented separately to assess each vineyard block for quality and viticultural practices. Aged in French oak barrels for 24 months the wines were bottled at their peak potential. The color is a vibrant garnet, aromas of ripe black cherry fruit and sweet vanilla oak are all combined with mature tannins and good acidity to make this a great accompaniment to many cuisines. This wine has a long future, but can be enjoyed today.
